Presidential Candidate Willie Wilson Applauds Supreme Court for Obamacare Ruling
Chicago (June 25, 2015) - Democratic Presidential Candidate Willie Wilson, who owns a multi-million dollar medical supplies company, says that today's ruling by the U.S. Supreme Court to uphold the Affordable Care Act is a win for the nation.
"I personally feel that we should have a healthcare system in which all Americans are entitled to the best medical care at no cost, however Obamacare is allowing more families to obtain health coverage who otherwise may not afford it.," said Wilson.
"Upholding Obamacare is definitely a step forward, but more needs to be done in terms of keeping all of our citizens healthy. If Canada, Singapore and New Zealand can exercise universal healthcare, we should be able to do the same. Quality healthcare is a right for all citizens. If we can spend money on foreign wars, we can spend money on domestic healing," he added.
"We can always work on improving things for all citizens, but at least we have something to start with."
A successful businessman, author and philanthropist, Wilson attracted national attention with his campaign for mayor of Chicago earlier this year, causing the city's first-ever run-off election for a sitting mayor.
During his presidential tour, which has so far included stops in Illinois, Iowa and New Hampshire, Wilson explains that the planks for his political platforms include economic development, improved education, public safety in all communities, free healthcare, equal opportunity for all citizens, equal pay for equal work and an "America first" foreign policy.
