Presidential Candidate Willie Wilson Is One of Four Democratic Presidential Candidates to Register for South Carolina Presidential Primary Ballot Monday
Press Conference to be Held Monday November 16th at 10:30am
Chicago, IL – (Thursday Nov. 13, 2015) – Presidential Candidate Willie Wilson of Chicago is one of four Democrats who will be completing ballot registration for the presidential primary contest in South Carolina February 27, 2016. Ballot Registration for Wilson, Sanders, O'Malley and Clinton will take place Monday morning at the South Carolina Democratic Party Headquarters - 915 Lady Street, Suite 111 Columbia, SC 29201
Wilson who announced his candidacy on June 1st has voiced his displeasure and disappointment with the Democratic National Committee's shunning of his campaign, "I've given hundreds of thousands of dollars in support of the Democratic Party but now that I've chosen to raise my level of public participation the powers that be still want my money but sadly not my input. I became a successful businessman, employing over 30,000 people, through faith and hard work. Faith, hard work and my supporters did it again because I'm on the ballot."
Wilson who grew up in a Jim Crow South and has lost a son to urban violence is a true rags-to-riches story. From earning twenty cents an hour to helming a sixty million dollar a year medical equipment company he is the ‘every man’ candidate. He has been running television and radio advertisements in various states, including South Carolina, and has visited dozens of cities in Illinois, New Hampshire, Florida, Louisiana, New York, South Carolina, Mississippi, Alabama, Michigan and Iowa.
Also at Monday's press conference with Wilson will be civil rights leader Dr. Charles Steele, CEO of SCLC. Steele and the historic SCLC have recognized and supported Wilson’s right as an American citizen to run for president – unlike the DNC. Steele has communicated to the DNC their failure to offer Wilson fair and equal opportunity as afforded to the other candidates. In addition to Steele also in attendance will be local leaders and supporters from across the country.
